Omar Genus
Omar Genus is the owner and lead photographer/videographer of Genus Reels. He moved to Ottawa in 2015 to attend Carleton University and graduated in 2019 with his Bachelor of Arts in Sociology. Omar began this business as a student in 2019 in an effort to help with extra money for living expenses. What started as a small side hustle has become a growing business in the media industry. Serving clients in the fashion, fitness, real estate industries and working with several wedding clients and taking family portraits, Omar has extensive experience as a photographer and videographer.
Omar has also developed his skillset by acquiring knowledge in business marketing and lead generation. With his knowledge, he is looking to help businesses create an online footprint by establishing their Visual Signature.
Genus Reels is a local Ottawa media business focused on serving those from across the National Capital Region. The capital city is one full of beautiful families, a budding culture of diversity and business growth. Media is a necessary component of realizing and promoting the positive growth this city is embarking on and I would like to be a part of displaying the growth of the city and region.
Genus Reels' ideal client is the following:
- Serving families by capturing memorable moments through photo and/or video (i.e. family portraits, birthday celebrations, etc.)
- Serving couples looking celebrate their love through engagements and weddings by providing photo and video to capture that knee hitting the pavement to pop the question, or making sure that the special kiss on the wedding day is caught in great quality.
- Serving business owners by providing direction and strategy for establishment and growth online.
